How many skin needling procedures does one need?

The number of needling procedures depends greatly on the individual skin type, condition to be treated and area to be treated.  The following is a good guideline for expectations, given average variables.

 Stretch marks : 3 to 4 treatments

 Wrinkles : 3 to 5 treatments initially to lift the existing wrinkles, with one or two annual treatments to prevent formation of new ones

 Moderate acne scars : 3 to 4 treatments

 Thermal burn scars : up to 5 treatments (greatly dependent on the severity)

 Skin rejuvenation : 2 to 4 treatments annually (dependent on skin type and age)

 Skin Tightening : 3 to 5 treatments annually

When is Dermapen needling contra-indicated?

Skin needling may not be performed:

 During Pregnancy

 Diabetic patients

 Active, inflamed acne

 Skin Cancer

 Patients with clotting disorders

 Patients on blood thinners

 Scars less than 6 months old

 Within 1 year of Cortisone treatment

 Within 1 month of undergoing a chemical peel,

Botox or filler injections
